As a writer, producer, actress, and self-professed ‘web geek,’ Taryn’s online videos have received more than 100 million hits and earned her both a Spike TV Guy’s Choice Award and a IAWTV and Streamy Best Actress nomination.
The creator and star of Taryn TV (over 400,000 subscribers), Taryn is one of the early pioneers of digital media, having been the first person to sell and produce a TV series based on an online video (Project MyWorld to DirecTV in 2006) and subsequently, a scripted pilot based on a web series (Private High Musical to MTV in 2009.) Taryn has sold two television shows based on web concepts. In 2006, she executive produced and starred in Project MyWorld, a travel series on DirecTV, and in 2009, she sold her web series Private High Musical, to MTV and developed the project as a half-hour musical comedy pilot with veteran Family Guy/American Dad writer/producer David Zuckerman.
Taryn most recently served as a correspondent “Naked After Dark,” a late night talk show on Discovery Channel, created and produced a 6-part series for The Today Show, and reprises her lead role in Glamour Magazine’s hit online series “The Single Life.”
As a host, Taryn has been a correspondent for FOX’s “The X-Factor,” G4′s “Attack of the Show,” TVGuide’s “Hollywood 411,” VH1′s “Best Week Ever,” and she has hosted more than 9 pilots for MTV, WeTV, F/X, and The CW. Taryn co-hosted the The Golden Globes Post Show with Nick Cannon on NBC, co-hosted the official online pre-shows for “The X-Factor,” the American Music Awards, as well as hosted dozens of live film premieres such as Twilight, Avatar, and Sex and the City for studios such as New Line, Warner Brothers, Focus Features, and Disney.
As an actress, she has guest starred on “Rules of Engagement,” “New Girl,” “Guys with Kids,” “Last Man Standing,” “The League,” “Legit,” and starred in numerous online series including MTV’s “Status Updates” and the WB’s “Sorority Forever.”
Additionally, Taryn’s first musical comedy album made the Top 10 List on iTunes the month of its release and her single, “Crush,” made Top 100 Radio. She currently is working on a book (Self Help For The Digital Soul) and a talk show with Kelly Ripa’s production company Milojo.
In 2010, Taryn co-wrote and produced ‘Touch a Tit, Save a Tit,’ a viral breast cancer campaign that starred Minka Kelly, Emily Deschanel, Alyson Hannigan, Jaime King, and Kat McPhee. In 2011,
